Candidate for Illinois State Representative 95th District
Born in Springfield into a family whose patriotism runs deep with both grandfathers serving in WWII and uncles in Vietnam and marrying into a family of established small business owners, Kristen Chiaro brings both love of Country and community to the table.
With a passion for education and a fundamental understanding of its importance to a successful society, she graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education.
Afterward, she returned to Springfield where she met her husband Brett and embarked on a career in public service. Kristen dedicated more than a decade to the State of Illinois in Communications where she reported on agency programs and initiatives affecting Illinoisans. She also played an active role in the Teamsters Union by bringing the Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee to Springfield and serving as a steward.
In 2019, she was elected as Village of Chatham Trustee and was re-elected in 2023. She has spent her time on the Village Board collaborating with fellow Board members on meaningful improvements and meeting with State Legislators securing funding for major projects that continually stimulate the local economy.
She is ready to apply those experiences to the Illinois House of Representatives and work towards a better and brighter future for the 95th District.
